Checklists for departure from home and on-route.

The list below is more of a guide rather than an absolute must. Checking everything for every trip would be somewhat over the top, however skimming down the list may remind us of something we have forgotten or needs doing.
Many of the items on this list mirror what is on the service schedules. for which we hope to get an app, (persuade son to write)  to assist with, it may be possible to include this list as part of that program, highlighting the jobs that need to be done or are due.

Items below in “Grey” have not been fitted yet.

Pr-trip checklists

 Prior to the trip as necessary.

Personal & van documents, (dependent on destination, see snatch bags).
EU medical cover card (E111), (dependent on destination, see snatch bags).
Vaccination status & proof if required. (dependent on destination, see snatch bags).

Travel insurance, (dependent on destination, see snatch bags).
Van insurance, (dependent on destination, see snatch bags). 
Equipment & spares list, (dependent on destination).

Water.
Fuel level, (70L + 70L when fitted).

Engine oil level.
Engine coolant level.
Gearbox oil level, (4.5 L).

Brake fluid level.
Power stirring fluid level.
Diff-lock actuators, (with caution, need to be in a safe place for this).
Fuel filters.
Air filter (main).
Air filter, (cyclonic).
Breather pipes.
Shocks.
Tyres presser

Tyres tread.
Screen-wash fluid level, (F & B).
Windscreen wipers, (F, B & spares).
Horn.
Second horn, (with discretion).

Lights, (front).

    Headlights, (dipped).

    Headlight direction masks, (fitted if required, temporary).
    Dipped light direction, (L or R, when twin headlights are fitted).

Washing lines fixed to the van are dismantled and stowed.
Roof boxes are locked.
Access ladder, stowed & locked.
Swing-out arm attachments, secured.
Swing out arms, locked.
Telescopic flag pole is lowered, (flags & or kite stowed).
CB flag pole aerial stowed, (if used).
The camera/turbine pole is lowered, (camera & or turbine stowed, if used).
CB aerial socket flag poles removed, (not suitable for motorway or offroad driving).
CB whip aerials installed in their socket, (if needed).

The mains power is disconnected & cable is stowed.
Leveling wedges, stowed.
Drive on the correct side of the road.

Put the kettle on for tea, (this job may be delegated).
Immobilized van.
Reconnected mains power.
Drain water containers,  (if no immediate trip is planned).
Drain waste water container & disinfect,  (if no immediate trip is planned).
Start (or continue) planning the next trips, (and drink tea).
if arrival home is late in the day, beer may possibly be substituted for tea.
