Our reasoning and expectations behind this.
In the long term, we are planning to put a custom-built pop-top on the van, (but that relies on my welding skills improving), so as there are quite a few things (see roof rack attachments) we need to attach or put up there, the roof rack will have to do for now.
When the pop-top roof is finally made, it is hoped to incorporate the currently attached items into the new roof.
